Noteworthy for Resilience
Until recently, I was looking for my next role. After being made redundant in January, my confidence took a knock, ironically at a time when resilience was vital and I was being asked to present my best self for interviews.
Knowing I needed to build myself back up fast, I gleaned insights from leaders what it takes to succeed, particularly in moments of failure. They served as a timely reminder that setbacks happen to us all and provided inspiration for small, tangible actions I could easily put into practice. And, most importantly, motivation for my next move.

Airbnb's journey shows success is never straightforward, especially when shaking up traditional markets. The founders faced many knock backs along the way, but their dedication to a strong company culture and effective leadership has fuelled it's impressive growth.
In particular it highlights the importance of mentorship and seeking out experts during uncertainty for advice. Whilst we might not have CEOs on speed-dial, reaching out to knowledgeable colleagues or friends for guidance can be invaluable.

Heard: Working Hard, Hardly Working (Grace Beverley): The Real Story Behind Odd Muse with Aimee Smale
Aimee Smale candidly shares her journey of starting “Odd Muse” and running a successful company. She is refreshingly open on the reality of entrepreneurship, including the inevitable mistakes and lessons learned.
A key message running throughout is; running a company, like a career path isn’t just about the highlight reel; it’s about embracing failures and learning from them.
So Wat actions? Instead of dwelling on the perceived failure, focus on the lessons learned to move forward. And by writing it down, it helps clear the mind. Ask: What was learned? Was there anything positive? How can progress be made? This shifts the mindset from "I'm a failure" to "I have an opportunity to grow."
Wore: Confidence-boosting blazer
Invest in pieces such as a versatile blazer that exudes “I’ve got this”. Even in a relaxed fit, it can elevate your look for important meetings and become a staple in your wardrobe, boosting your confidence with every wear.
I recently acquired a suede number for my first day in my role. Its relaxed but sophisticated appearance will instil a sense of composure in me (fingers crossed).
So Wat actions? When you're in need of an extra boost, keep go-to items in mind that amplify your confidence, whether it's a pair of heels, your lucky jumper or a lipstick shade that empowers you, I believe these small choices can make all the difference in how you feel.
Stay tuned for more insights, tips & inspiration. Especially as I start my new role (Eeek!)
